City of Highwood City Council met July 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Call to Order by Mayor Pecaro at 7:31 P.M.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Grice, Hospodarsky, Fiore, Peterson, Slavin, Falberg

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Jablecki, City Clerk Baruffi, Administrative Assistant Litjens

2. Pledge of Allegiance

Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve the City Council: July 05, 2017 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Falberg to approve the Committee of the Whole: July 05, 2017 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve the 07/18/2017 AP Warrant List as presented. All present voting aye, motion carried.

City Manager Coren pointed out there was a $40,000.00 saving on the resurfacing road repair.

7. Mayor’s Report

Mayor Pecaro announced the coming of the Taco Fest beginning Thursday, July 20th through Sunday, July 24th. It will be located at the Metra Train lot in downtown Highwood, and is tented, so will be open rain or shine.

12.1. 17-O-18 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve an Ordinance Approving a Redevelopment Agreement with Preservation Properties Group, LLC

Concerning 428 Green Bay Road in the City of Highwood. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Yes: Aldermen: Falberg, Fiore, Grice, Peterson, Slavin, Hospodarsky

12.2. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Grice for Approval of the 2018 Fiscal Year Budget. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.3. 17-O-19 Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Fiore to waive the first reading and approve an Annual Appropriations Ordinance of the City of Highwood, Illinois, For the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2017 and Ending April 30, 2018. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.4. 17-O-20 Moved by Alderman Grice, seconded by Alderman Fiore to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance on Salary and Compensation for the City of Highwood for the FYE 2018. All present voting aye, motion carried.

12.5. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Fiore to authorize a Motion Authorizing the Mayor to Sign an Agreement with Scott Coren to Employ Him as the City Manager. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
