City of Highwood City Council City Council met September 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Call to Order by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 p.m.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Hospodarsky, Peterson, Slavin

Absent: Alderman Fiore

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Jablecki, City Clerk Baruffi, Administrative Assistant Litjens

2. Pledge of Allegiance

Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the City Council: September 05, 2017 minutes as presented. All present voting aye by voice vote, motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Falberg to approve the Committee of the Whole: September 05, 2017 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the 09/19/2017 AP Warrant List as presented. All those in attendance voting aye, motion carried.

6. Public Input Items Not On Agenda

It was noted no one was in the public area other than City staff.

7. Mayor’s Report

Mayor Pecaro noted with all that City Manager Coren has accomplished, it is only his 3rd year anniversary with the City.

11. New Business

11.1. 17-O-24 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Amending 4-1-7: Classification of Licenses in the Highwood City Code to Eliminate a Class A Liquor License and Add a Class D Liquor License to Allow Slyce to Obtain Their Liquor License . All present voting aye, motion carried.

Yes: Aldermen: Falberg, Peterson, Slavin, Grice, Hospodarsky

Absent: Alderman Fiore

The Class D license includes beer and wine plus retail sales.

The change of a liquor license and whether the monies already charged would be credited to the upgraded liquor license with a time limit will be proposed at a future meeting.

11.2. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve a Motion Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with Christopher B. Burke, Ltd. to Designate them as the City ’s Municipal Engineer. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Alderman Fiore

11.3. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve a Motion Authorizing the City Manager to Spend Up to $12,000 to Sandblast and Paint Approximately 136 Fire Hydrants in the City of Highwood . All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Alderman Fiore

11.4. 17-R-24 Moved by Alderman Grice, seconded by Alderman Falberg to authorize a Resolution Adopting the 2017 Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11.5. 17-O-25 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Grice to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Declaring Miscellaneous Water and Street Repair Items Surplus. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Alderman Fiore

14. Adjournment Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
