Rep. Barbara Wheeler (R-Crystal Lake) has endorsed Lake County Board member Tom Weber as her successor in the 64th House District, which covers parts of Lake and McHenry counties, according to a press release from Weber.
“I am very proud to support the candidacy of Tom Weber for State Representative,” Wheeler said in the release. “Tom grew up in and has been a lifelong resident of Lake County where he has raised his family and made a huge impact as both a community member and public official.”
Wheeler said she has seen Weber working hard for the people of the district over the years.

"He also represents a significant portion of District 64 in his current position on the Lake County Board and as a result is keenly aware of many issues facing its residents," she said in the release.
Weber is a lifelong Lake County resident who ran his own construction business prior to getting involved in local politics in 2012. Since then, Weber has been on both the Lake County Board and the Lake County Forest Preserve District Board. Running on a platform of tax reform, Weber is a graduate of St. John's Military Academy and has been active in the community in various roles.
