Karen Feldman’s run in the 59th House District is motivated by her memories of what once was.
"Karen is passionate about restoring Illinois to what it used to be – a place where companies and families moved to for a better and brighter future,” her campaign notes on its website. “Karen is running for state representative to end the culture of corruption and complacency in Springfield.”
In the race to replace retiring Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills), Feldman is set to face Democrat Daniel Didech in November's general election after knocking off Marko Sukovic in the GOP primary with nearly 59 percent of the vote.

“Karen knows big changes must be made if we want to make Illinois a place we can all be proud to call home again,” her website adds. “She understands the need to work across the aisle and deliver common-sense reform to Illinois. Karen believes that education is the key to everything in life and therefore has long put an emphasis on her own education.”
A graduate of DePaul University, the 49-year-old Feldman now works in real estate and has committed herself to working to fix the state’s runaway property tax system. She has also pledged to fight for government consolidation, term limits and independent district mapping.
Feldman has also served as a Lincolnshire Village Trustee member. She and her husband, Jeffrey, reside in Lincolnshire with their three children.
