Report: North Chicago spent $14,795 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at North Chicago School District 187 is up 0 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $14,723 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,795 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3681 to 3564.

North Chicago's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
