Report: Grant spent $13,209 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Grant Community High School District 124 is up 18 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $11,159 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,209 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1894 to 1874.

Grant's spending in 2016-17 was 2 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
