How much has Grant CHSD 124 overspent over the past 10 years?

Grant Community High School District 124 accumulated $16.45 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Grant CHSD 124 reported 30.3 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 59.8 percent.
