Webp shutterstock 184329281

Community High School District 117 issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.

On August 14th, the district held an institute on updating safety procedures. Members of the Lake Villa and Lindenhurst Police Departments and Deans Curt Onstad and Kurt Sooley reviewed research on school safety with staff. CHSD 117 is adopting a new program, ALiCE (Alert, Lockdown, inform, Counter, and Evacuate), to improve and upgrade safety measures in and out of the classroom.

In addition to this training, over the summer the two police departments also opened a satellite office space near the main entrance of the Lakes. This space will be used for officers to work on paperwork and increase overall visibility in the high schools. For more information visit https://www.alicetraining.com./
