Of the 1,714 in-school suspensions, 1,189 were given to boys and 525 were given to girls, including 822 elementary or middle schoolers and 892 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 1,620 incidents. There were 38 incidents of drugs. For 682 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 434 out-of-school suspensions, 299 were given to boys and 135 were given to girls, including 325 elementary or middle schoolers and 109 high schoolers.
