GRANT COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 124: Where The Magic Begins

Disney

Grant Community High School District 124 recently issued the following announcement.

Our Disney themed Homecoming week is approaching quickly! It’s a week jampacked with dress-up days and events, during and after school. Hopefully everyone can join in and show their Bulldog spirit between Sept. 10 and Sept. 15!

The week will kick off on Monday with Disney World Tourist Day, where students are encouraged to wear an outfit they would wear to Disney World. Monday morning from 7:40-9:25, seniors will be out in the community painting windows of local businesses. After school there are a lot of events students can participate in! Powderpuff players, junior and seniors, will have practice from 3:15-5:30. Those that aren’t playing can paint class windows from 3:15-5 p.m. Parade forms are also due!

Tuesday is for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Twins! Students can find a friend and dress alike or they can dress up like the same character in different stages (think Princess and the Frog, or Belle before the Beast and after). Powderpuff will practice from 3:15-5:30. Today is also the last day for seniors to vote for their King and Queen!

Wednesday is Sleeping Beauties Day. Wear what you wear to bed, but please follow the dress code. There will be a massive block party from 5-7 p.m. with a DJ, games and face-painting. Feel free to bring your family! The Powderpuff game will also be happening from 7-9, so make sure you’re there cheering on the juniors and seniors!

On Thursday, all students should dress up as their favorite character. Bonus points for dressing up with friends!! Have fun showing which Disney character you relate most with. Will it be a hero or villain?

And of course, Friday is Mickey and Minnie Spirit Day! Wear as much black and red as you can with Mickey and Minnie ears! There will be a pep assembly during school to get everyone pumped up for the football games that night! Freshmen play at 5:00 and the Varsity game kicks off at 7:15.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Our Homecoming parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday for the whole community to watch. If you would like to be in the parade, please click here for Parade Entry Form. There will also be building tours for alumni and community members starting at 10:30.

Saturday evening the students of Grant look to celebrate victory with the Homecoming dance from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Students can purchase tickets to the dance at the school bookstore from 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. starting on Monday, September 10. Tickets are $15 per person. Any student wanting to bring a date from out of school must complete the Guest Approval Form PRIOR to purchasing a ticket. Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door. Anyone attending the dance should review the Dance Policy and Dress Code by clicking here.

Any questions regarding Homecoming should be addressed to Ms. Gaura in Room 258 or at agaura@grantbulldogs.org.
