Community High School District 117 issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
Three (4) full-term (4 yrs.) positions on the seven-member board of education will be filled at the April 2nd election.
Nominating petition forms for the April 2, 2019 school board election in Community High School District #117 are available on the Lake County Clerk’s office in Waukegan or on their website: lakecountyclerk.info The circulation period for the non-partisan school board candidates will begin on September 18, 2018.
To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be, on the date of election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the State of Illinois and the District 117 School District for at least one year immediately preceding the election. The school board election is nonpartisan, and board candidates do not run under political party affiliation.
A school board candidate’s petition must be filed in the Lake County Clerk’s Office at 18 N. County Street in Waukegan starting Monday, December 10. The last date for filing is December 17, 2018.
Candidates’ names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received in the Lake County Clerk’s office.
