Retired Warren TWP HSD 121 employee Gail Buscemi saved $24,670 toward her pension over 6 years working for public schools, Illinois Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRS) records show.
Over 33 years of retirement, Buscemi would collect as much as $923,000 according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Lake County Gazette.
Buscemi, 62, who currently lives in Mount Prospect, earned $52,868 in her final year at Warren TWP HSD 121.

The projection assumes Buscemi will receive 29.5 percent of that total - $15,599 - in her first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.
After three years of retirement, Buscemi will have already received $48,216 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of her contributions to the state teachers' pension fund.
ISBE reported that 59.9 percent of Warren TWP HSD 121 graduates were deemed "college ready" last year.
