Barr, Simpson among winners in Lake County Board races

The results of the Lake County Board races have been released.

Republican Dick Barr has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 3 race against Democrat Ed Gallagher. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Barr had 51.59 percent of the vote with a total of 5,976 votes. Gallagher received 48.41 percent of the vote with a total of 5,608 votes.

Republican Judy Martini has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 5 race against Democrat Casey Kwiatkowski. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Martini had 57.64 percent of the vote with a total of 6,680 votes. Kwiatkowski received 42.36 percent of the vote with a total of 4,909 votes.

Democrat John Wasik has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 6 race against Republican Jeff Werfel. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Wasik had 55.77 percent of the vote with a total of 6,436 votes. Werfel received 44.23 percent of the vote with a total of 5,105 votes.

Democrat Jessica Vealitzek has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 10 race against Republican Charles "Chuck" Bartels. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Vealitzek had 50.05 percent of the vote with a total of 7,571 votes. Bartels received 49.95 percent of the vote with a total of 7,555 votes.

Democrat Paul Frank has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 11 race against Republican Rebecca "Becky" Zeidman. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Frank had 75.26 percent of the vote with a total of 11,766 votes. Zeidman received 24.74 percent of the vote with a total of 3,867 votes.

Republican Carol Calabresa has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 15 race against Democrat Jennifer Clark. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Calabresa had 50.28 percent of the vote with a total of 6,560 votes. Clark received 49.72 percent of the vote with a total of 6,486 votes.

Republican Michael Danforth has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 17 race against Democrat Maria Peterson. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Danforth had 52.63 percent of the vote with a total of 7,402 votes. Peterson received 47.37 percent of the vote with a total of 6,661 votes.

Democrat Julie Simpson has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 18 race against Republican Karimar “Kari” Brown. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Simpson had 55.10 percent of the vote with a total of 6,708 votes. Brown received 44.90 percent of the vote with a total of 5,467 votes.

Republican Craig Taylor has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 19 race against Democrat Geoffrey J. Petzel. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Taylor had 58.99 percent of the vote with a total of 8,518 votes. Petzel received 41.01 percent of the vote with a total of 5,921 votes.

Democrat Adam R. Didech has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 20 race against Republican Sidney H. Mathias. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Didech had 50.60 percent of the vote with a total of 6,641 votes. Mathias received 49.40 percent of the vote with a total of 6,483 votes.

Republican Ann B. Maine has been declared the winner in the County Board Member District 21 race against Democrat Susan Malter. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Maine had 52.31 percent of the vote with a total of 8,053 votes. Malter received 47.69 percent of the vote with a total of 7,343 votes.
