CITY OF HIGHWOOD: Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment

Health

City of Highwood issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.

TIME SENSITIVE: Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment

Moraine Township will once again offer assistance to residents enrolling for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Open Enrollment begins November 1, 2018 and ends December 15, 2018.

Trained and Certified counselors are available to work one-on-one with residents to help them understand their options, balance their medical needs and budgets, compare coverage and costs, and help ensure that enrollees receive the premium subsidies and cost-sharing reductions they may be income-qualified to receive.

“Again this year, open enrollment is an abbreviated period and we are concerned that many participants in the Health Insurance Marketplace may not be aware of this shortened period and will miss out of health insurance for all of 2019 if they are not enrolled by December 15,” notes 6-year Certified Application Counselor volunteer Barbara Altman.

Residents who are currently enrolled in health insurance plans through the Marketplace have two options: re-enroll in their existing plan for another year; select a different plan for 2019

Enrollees may find it beneficial to learn about changes that may have taken place in their existing plan, or review details and compare costs of alternative plans.

Appointments with Moraine Township Certified Application Counselors will be available weekdays plus some weekend and evening hours. To schedule an appointment call 847-432-3240.
