Lake Forest star forward Danny Sotos recently joined the school’s roster of players with 1,000 career points.
Sotos finished with 25 in a recent hard-fought 108-100 home loss to rival Grinnell College, giving him 1,006 points for his career and making him just the 23rd player in Forrester history to top the mark.
According to the school’s website, on the night the 6'5", 225-pound Sotos shot 10-for-12 from the field to go along with a career-high 12 rebounds, giving him his first double-double of the year. He added five assists and a pair of blocked shots while not committing a turnover on a night when Lake Forest totaled 27 as a team.
This season Sotos is averaging 12.8 points, seven rebounds and two assists a night. The Lake Forest-Grinnell game marked the Midwest Conference opener for both teams, with the loss dropping Lake Forest to 3-1 for the year.
Sotos, from Elk Grove, is majoring in computer science.
