GRANT COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 124: Illinois 5Essentials Survey

Survey

Grant Community High School District 124 recently issued the following announcement.

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey window is now open all stakeholders. Parents, students and teachers across Illinois have an opportunity to participate in the statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This opportunity allows stakeholders to share their thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about Grant Community High School.

On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:

  • Effective Leaders
  • Collaborative Teachers
  • Involved Families
  • Supportive Environments
  • Ambitious Instruction
Since mid-fall, Grant parents have been responding to this survey opportunity. Grant teachers and students will be responding to this survey in January 2019. For students, the survey will be administered on January 10, 2019 using an activity schedule with their TEAM classes. The survey is anticipated to take approximately 30 minutes. Student results are anonymously reported to the State, and participation rates will be included in the School Report Card. If you have questions about the 5Essentials Survey or do not want your student to participate, please contact the Principal’s Office.
