Report: North Chicago spent $14,526 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 is up 6.5 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $13,640 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $14,526 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3659 to 3558.

North Chicago's spending in 2017-18 was 8.9 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
