Grant Community High School District 124 recently issued the following announcement.
**Proposed Changes to 2019/20 Calendar**
Back in November, the Board of Education approved the calendar for 2019/20 school year. However, we learned the week of January 14th that many Lake County high school districts did not align their spring break with the Lake County Regional Office of Education Recommended Calendar. Districts not recognizing breaks at the same time presents holiday and child care planning challenges for families and staff, academic challenges for students attending the Tech Campus, and athletic competition challenges among schools. As a result, we are recommending a calendar change to the Board of Education on February 21, 2019. We will be recommending spring break take place March 23 to 27, 2020. We do apologize for the change. Recognizing winter and spring breaks according to the Lake County Regional Office of Education Recommended Calendar has been standard practice for many years at Grant, but it does appear that practice will have to be revisited by the Calendar Committee. Much communication has taken place with our feeder districts and we are happy to report they will be discussing a potential change with their respective Boards of Education to align with our new calendar.
