Meeting808

Illinois' 59th State House District issued the following announcement on March 28.

In an effort to serve as a strong advocate for the environmental needs of the community, state Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is inviting residents to participate in his upcoming Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Vernon Township Building, located at 3050 N. Main St. in Buffalo Grove.

“We know that the only way to protect our environment for future generations is by working together,” Didech said. “There are lots of different initiatives being proposed in Springfield to safeguard our natural resources and I want to hear from the people in our community what they think.”

Residents with an interest in environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives are invited to join Didech and special guest, Jennifer Walling, the Executive Director of the Illinois Environmental Coalition for a discussion on environmental legislation being proposed in Springfield. Didech expects the committee to cover everything from fighting global warming to preserving and restoring local green space.

“Environmental issues come in all sizes, but they are all vital to our personal health and the health of our world,” Didech continued. “We deserve to have a planet and a state where the air and water are safe. That’s a reality we’re building piece-by-piece with community discussions and legislative policies.”
