ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 59: Didech Invites Residents to Participate in Health Care Advisory Meeting Focused Affordability and Access

59

Illinois State House District 59 issued the following announcement on July 30

Working to identify ways to bring better quality and lower cost health care to residents of Illinois, state Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, will be hosting a Health Care Citizens’ Advisory meeting on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. in Meeting Room B of the Sullivan Community Center, located at 1620 N. Aspen Dr. in Vernon Hills.

“When I ask the community about what issues matter to them, access to affordable and quality health care is one of their top concerns,” said Didech. “Middle-class families are struggling with rising health care costs and in need of relief. A serious conversation on what can be done to lighten that burden is long overdue.”

Didech hopes to bring health care professionals and members of the community together during the meeting to discuss all facets of the health care industry, as well as ways to make quality health care more accessible and affordable for Illinois families. This spring, Didech fought to stop insurance companies from slamming families with double-digit premium increases for no reason and supported efforts to rein in prescription drug costs.

“Since out-of-touch Washington politicians are trying to strip away our health care, I want to make sure we do everything we can in Springfield to make sure Illinois families are protected,” said Didech. “We’re all stakeholders in this discussion, and the only way we’re going to fix our broken health care system is by coming together and demanding that insurance and pharmaceutical companies start prioritizing people, not profits.”
