Illinois State House District 64 issued the following announcement on Sept. 20
I had a great time speaking with Illinois Manufacturers' Association (IMA) President Mark Denzler and several Illinois manufactures at the IMA/Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) Chicago World’s Fair reception earlier this week. I enjoyed speaking with representatives from some company's you're probably familiar with, like Lasko (maker of household fans) and Dyson.
It was very educational and put into perspective how important manufacturing is to not only Illinois, but also Lake and McHenry Counties. Every dollar spent on manufacturing adds $1.89 to our economy. Almost 600,000 Illinoisans work in the manufacturing sector and manufactured products account for 93% our state's exports. In Lake County, manufacturing accounts for over 50,000 jobs and nearly 30% of county GDP, while it accounts for over 15,000 jobs and nearly 20% of GDP in McHenry County. A strong manufacturing sector in Illinois means a strong Illinois.
