City of Highwood City Council met Sept. 3.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:45 P.M.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Falberg, Hospodarsky, Fiore, Levi, Peterson, Slavin

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Forte, Assistant City Manager Martin, Administrative Assistant Litjens, City Clerk Baruffi

2. Pledge of Allegiance

All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the City Council: August 20, 2019 minutes. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the Committee of the Whole: August 20, 2019 minutes. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the 09/03/2019 AP Warrant List for payment. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Nay: 0

7. Mayor’s Report

7.1. A Proclamation Honoring Annuziata Pattarozzi in Celebration of Her 100th Birthday.

Alderman Fiore read the Mayoral Proclamation honoring Annuziata Pattarozzi celebration of her 100th birthday.

9. Treasurer ’s Report

9.1. Moved by Alderman Levi, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the July 2019 treasurer ’s report as presented by Treasurer Jalonek at the Committee of the Whole Meeting earlier this evening. All present voted aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11. Unfinished Business

Alderman Hospodarsky and Alderman Peterson expressed their support of the project approved at 546 Green Bay Road at the August 20, 2019 City Council meeting. The project passed 4-0 but they wanted to communicate they would have voted in favor had they been present at the meeting.

12. New Business

12.1. 19-R-25 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Signage at Life and Death Located at 51 Highwood Avenue. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.2. 19-R-26 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Façade Renovation at Doris Bridal Located at 448 Sheridan Road. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.3. Consideration of a TIF District Façade Improvement Grant Award-Doris Bridal: 448 Sheridan Road.

Aye: Aldermen: Falberg, Fiore, Peterson, Slavin, Levi, Hospodarsky

Nay: 0

It was noted this is the 3rd TIF district façade award allocated.

12.4. 19-O-14 Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Amending 4-1-7: Classification of Licenses in the Highwood City Code to Add a Class L Liquor License-Pazzo di Vino. Motion carried.

Recuse: Alderman Falberg

Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Levi to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:55 P.M.
