The Lake County Republican Party has endorsed a slew of 2020 primary candidates, including local congressional candidates Jeanne Ives and Jim Oberweis.
The 29-member executive committee made its selections known earlier this month following an event at Lake County Republican Party headquarters in Grayslake, where all the candidates were interviewed. A two-thirds vote was required for formal endorsement.
“I want to thank all of the candidates who participated in this endorsement process for their devotion to our country and to our party,” Lake County Republican Party chairman Mark Shaw said in a post to Facebook. “The Lake County Republican Party must take a strong stand now to promote our strongest candidates in the upcoming primary election.”
