Adlai E Stevenson High School District 125 issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.
Stevenson High School will hold orientation and course selection evenings for eighth-graders and their families in January.
Orientation Evenings
Incoming freshman families will receive information regarding the online enrollment process, which must be completed for all soon-to-be freshman students by Jan. 31. Curriculum directors and students also will share information about course offerings and co-curricular activities.
Dates:
- Tuesday, Jan. 7 (Student last names A-H)
- Thursday, Jan. 9 (Student last names I-P)
- Wednesday, Jan. 15 (Student last names Q-Z)
- 6 p.m. - Information packet pick-up near the Performing Arts Center. Packets will include a password for online enrollment, 2020-21 Coursebook, 2020 summer school catalog, 2020-21 Co-Curricular Guide, and health forms.
- 6 p.m. - School tours will be available, starting at the Forum (“Point”) entrance off parking lot B
- 7 p.m. - Presentation in the Performing Arts Center
Eighth-graders and their families will be able to meet individually with a school counselor for a brief conversation about freshman course choices. Student Services staff also will be available during these evenings to answer questions related to enrollment. Prior to the Course Selection Evenings (and after the Orientation Evenings), families will receive a mailing from SHS sharing course recommendations for their child.

- Tuesday, Jan. 28 (Student last names M-Z)
Families unable to attend an Orientation or Course Selection Evening on their scheduled date may attend one of the other scheduled days. Families do not need to inform the school if they are attending on a different date.
Interpreters in Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Russian and Spanish will be available for these events. Families requiring an interpreter are asked to email Suzanne Paloian at spaloian@d125. no later than Friday, Jan. 3.
