Republican state House candidate Chris Bos argues residents of his 51st District have never stood a chance under incumbent state Rep. Mary Edly-Allen (D-Libertyville).
“I think it’s been that way from the very beginning, ever since that moment when she took a million dollars from Mike Madigan and voted that he carry on as House Speaker,” Bos told the Lake County Gazette. “She’s shown where her loyalties lie. The vast majority of the community doesn’t want Madigan, but she continues to support him.”
Bos (R-Lake Zurich) is hoping voters see him as the change they crave.
“I want them looking ahead to the future, seeing how in the past this state and district has been run to its detriment,” he said. “When they go into the polling booth, I want them to remember things don’t have to be that way.”
Bos said much of his campaign has centered on staying focused on the things that impact 51st District residents the most.
“We’ve concentrated less on everything that’s happening in Springfield and more on local matters that we all can relate to,” he said. “We need representation that speaks for the families in this district and not the Springfield way.”
Throughout his campaign, Bos has shown he’s not afraid to speak out when it comes to protecting the interests of the people he wants to represent. With all the recent federal corruption scandals emerging from Springfield, he recently called for Madigan’s immediate ouster as House Speaker.
“It would be in his best interest and the best interest of the city to clear the way moving forward,” he previously told the Lake County Gazette.
All of it has Bos feeling good as Election Day draws near.
“I think our message has truly resonated and that it’s one that the people of this district definitely identify with,” he said. “That’s our motto, ‘What’s local is what matters.’”
