ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 51: Edly-Allen Cancels April 20 Coffee at Panera Bread in Deer Park, Urges Residents to Continue Social Distancing

51

Illinois State House District 51 issued the following announcement on April 6

To maintain safe social distancing and encourage residents to stay home to save lives, state Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, D-Libertyville, is canceling her upcoming Mary on the Matters constituent meet and greet session scheduled for Monday, April 20 at 9 am at the Deer Park Panera Bread. Residents are encouraged to continue calling and emailing Edly-Allen for assistance with state-related issues.

“During the state stay at home order and while public health professionals continue to advise us to avoid social gatherings, I will be canceling all of my public events and will instead pursue virtual ways to connect with residents,” Edly-Allen said. “I am still taking meetings with constituents and local organizations by phone, email, or video conference and urge anyone who wants to discuss a state issue to contact me to set up time for us to connect safely.”

This week, Gov. Pritzker extended Illinois’ stay at home order through April 30. Residents can reach Edly-Allen’s office by emailing RepEdlyAllen@gmail.com or calling 224-206-7647. While working remotely, Edly-Allen and staff will remain fully accessible by phone and email through the entirety of the stay at home order.

“Hearing directly from the people I represent is paramount to understanding how to better represent my community,” Edly-Allen added. “It is even more critical right now to hear from my constituents as we continue to take the social distancing steps necessary to protect ourselves and our neighbors from COVID-19.”
