Illinois State Senate District 31 issued the following announcement on April 3.

The State of Illinois has created a website to centralize information about COVID-19’s spread in Illinois and what programs / services are available for affected residents and businessowners. Please visit www2.illinois.gov/sites/coronavirus for all information relating to the virus.

STAY AT HOME ORDER EXTENDED TO APRIL 30th

On advice of public health officials, Governor Pritzker announced that the stay at home executive order would be extended through April 30th, 2020

A relief fund was created to helps artists, artisans, stage & production members and cultural organizations and many others in Illinois

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

For people who have been recently laid off due to COVID19, you can qualify for the ACA right now due to experiencing a qualifying life event. Visit: getcovered.illinois.gov

FEDERAL STIMULUS PACKAGE / FINANCIAL RESOURCES

HELP SENIORS SAFELY SHOP FOR GROCERIES

”Leave It To Us” was started by a college student in Illinois to help senior citizens get their groceries. It’s a non-profit organization with the goal of supplying senior citizens with their grocery/pharmacy needs during this time. Deliveries are free and items are paid for upon delivery.

ALL LICENSED HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS - SIGN UP FOR ILLINOIS HELPS PROGRAM

All licensed healthcare workers are being asked to sign up for a new emergency alert system. By signing up, you will be joining an alert system, when activated, will ask you to deploy to assist to urgent needs during this public health crisis.

CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE

The State of Illinois is committed to ensuring essential workers have safe daycare while they work. Over 600 applications are being considered for licensing small group daycare during the COVID-19 crisis, ensuring socially distant settings.

Each provider will be given an additional stipend - $750 each for licensed homes and $2,000 for centers running one or two classrooms. Then another $3,000 to centers that are having 3 or more classrooms. Grant applications are available Monday, March 30th at coronavirus.illinois.gov

HELP BY DONATING TO NONPROFITS

The State of Illinois is partnering with the United Way of Illinois and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations to establish the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund which will support local orgs that help people who need help the most.

The fund will help provide primary healthcare services, food, supplies, interim housing and shelter, utility and financial assistance, support for children and other vulnerable populations and non-profit safety and operational assistance.
