Village of Cary Village Board met March 23.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
I. Call to Order This meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Mayor Kownick.
II. Roll Call Present: Mayor Kownick and Trustees Betz, Collier, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine and Weinhammer
Absent: None
Village Administrator Rife was also present.
III. Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Kownick led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
IV. Open Forum There being no comments from the public, Mayor Kownick closed Open Forum at 4:32 p.m.
V. Consider for Approval Authorizing Mayor Mark Kownick to Extend the Local Disaster Emergency Declaration Until April 30, 2020
Discussion Trustee Covelli asked why the end date of April 30th was chosen regarding the extension of the Local Disaster Emergency Declaration.
Village Administrator Rife and Chief Finlon stated the State of Illinois guidance recommends April 30th
Motion:
Trustee McAlpine moved, seconded by Trustee Betz, to approve Authorizing Mayor Mark Kownick to Extend the Local Disaster Emergency Declaration Until April 30, 2020
Ayes: Betz, Collier, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine, Weinhammer
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Motion Carried
VI. Consider for Approval an Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor to Exercise Emergency Powers Per the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-1-6) (020-03-02]
VII. Discussion Mayor Kownick reviewed details of what the ordinance allows and stated Village Board members would be kept apprised of any decisions being discussed.
VIII. The Village Board discussed recent and ongoing communication between state representatives and local municipalities regarding the COVID-19 situation.

Trustee McAlpine moved, seconded by Trustee Collier, to approve
Ayes: Betz, Collier, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine, Weinhammer
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Motion Carried
XI. Adjourn There being no further items to discuss, a MOTION was made to adjourn the meeting at 4:48 p.m.

SECOND: Trustee Weinhammer
