City of Highwood City Council met May 19.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 P.M.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Slavin, Falberg, Fiore, Peterson and Hospodarsky

Absent: Alderman Levi

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Jablecki and Administrative Assistant Litjens

2. Review of Minutes to be Ap proved

2.1. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky and seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the minutes for City Council May 05, 2020 as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

3. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

4. Approval of Warrant List:

4.1. Moved by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to approve the 05/19/2020 AP Warrant List for payment. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

5. Public Input Items Not on Agenda

An email from Marco Santi, owner of Marco’s Northside Grill was read.

8. Treasurer ’s Report

8.1. Moved by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to approve the March 2020 Treasurer’s Report as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11. New Business

11.1. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky and seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve a Resolution Directing Staff to Delay the Liquor License Due Date from June 30, 2020 to December 31, 2020 Without Penalty. Alderman Falberg recused himself.

Aldermen Slavin, Fiore, Peterson and Hospodarsky voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11.2. Moved by Alderman Falberg and seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Landscape at Del Rio Restaurant Located at 228 Green Bay Road. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11.3. Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky and seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Signage, Fence and Landscape at Church of the Redeemer Located at 107 Highwood Avenue. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

11.4. A Discussion on Allowing for Expanded Restaurant Seating on Sidewalks, in Streets and in Parking Areas to Increase Areas for Patrons to Dine Once They are Allowed to Open.

The City will work closely with the Chamber to support local business while maintaining social distancing and other safety precautions.

11.5. A Discussion on the Everts Park Renovation.

Tabled to the June 02, 2020 City Council meeting.
