Adlai E Stevenson High School District 125 issued the following announcement on Aug. 18.

The District 125 Board of Education on Monday, August 17, 2020, appointed Fei Amy Shang to fill the vacancy created by a recent resignation. Shang was selected to complete the four-year term of Sunit Jain. Jain resigned on July 4, 2020.

“We were fortunate to have so many outstanding applicants for this position,” said District 125 Board of Education President Steven Frost. “Having so many highly qualified applicants made this decision very difficult, but in the end, we believe that Fei has the unique skill set that will be very valuable for the Board.”

Shang, a Long Grove resident, has been very active in Kildeer Countryside Consolidated School District 96 in the past, including volunteering for the Country Meadows PTO and the Woodlawn Middle School PTO, as well as teaching for the Xilin Northwestern Chinese School. She also has been active in the Stevenson High School community by serving as a Stevenson Community Foundation Board Member and Finance Committee Member for the past two years.

Shang earned her MBA from DePaul University in International Finance & Marketing. She has been a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder since 2004. Shang is the author of several research publications.

Shang is a Senior Investment Consultant at Aon Investments USA, Inc. one of the leading investment consulting firms serving institutional investors globally with $4.5 trillion under advisory and $120 billion under management. As a senior member of the Investment Policy Services (IPS) Group and voting member of the Advisory Portfolio Oversight Committee (APOC), she works closely with institutional investors such as public and corporate defined benefit and defined contribution plans, endowment and foundation clients to help clients fulfill fiduciary responsibilities and achieve long-time investment goals.

Frost also noted “not only will Fei’s professional skills be invaluable on the Board, she has clearly demonstrated a strong and continuing commitment of volunteerism to the Stevenson community and our students. It’s a perfect fit.”
