Livestream of 2022 Albert Cardinal Meyer Lecture featuring Bishop Robert Barron on March 10

28

The University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary is honored to host the Most Reverend Robert Barron, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and founder of Word on Fire, as our guest lecturer for the Albert Cardinal Meyer Lecture Series on March 10 and 11, 2022.  His two-part lecture series is entitled “Breaking Through the Buffered Self.”

Bishop Barron will explore why so many people today live in alienation from any relationship to the transcendent and offer a suggestion of paths toward re-establishing that link.

He has divided the talk into two major sections, the first of which deals with the social and theological causes of the buffered self and the second of which presents the three transcendentals of the true, the good, and the beautiful as privileged routes of access to a reality that transcends our ordinary experience. His hope is that the two lectures will be of theoretical interest but also of practical use to those involved in evangelizing the contemporary culture.

The lectures run from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 and continue from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m on Friday, March 11.
