Libertyville, IL- Laura Dias, candidate for State Representative in the 62nd House District, stated her full support of the dangerous 'SAFE-T’ Act in a recent Lake County News-Sun interview. She said it makes her feel safer for her family and herself which is “top of mind for me.” And that she does not see the end of cash bail as detrimental.
Right now, a bipartisan group of 58 States Attorneys across Illinois are in a legal battle against the state for the serious public safety threat they believe the legislation presents.
“Crime is out of control in the city of Chicago and surrounding areas, and thanks to the Democrat-led General Assembly who passed the so-called SAFE-T Act, that same threat is coming to our communities in Lake County,” said Adam Shores, Republican candidate in the 62nd House District.
“Laura’s full-blown support of this dangerous legislation that threatens the safety of both law enforcement and our families is exactly why she is unfit to represent our community. The families I talk with throughout our district are worried about their safety and want law enforcement to have every tool possible to protect and serve. As State Representative, I will vote to repeal this law and fight for your family’s safety,” Shores said.
Adam Shores is proud to have the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police and Trooper’s Lodge #41.
