House Republican Majority has issued the following press release:

Lake Zurich, IL – Running for re-election in one of the most hotly contested races for the Illinois House in Lake and Cook Counties, State Representative Chris Bos campaigns on “promises kept” in delivering on good government reforms for his first term in the Illinois House.

“When I ran for this office in 2020, I said the race was never about me. It was about us—our community. I said if I were to win the election, my priorities would be to vote to make Illinois affordable for families, keep our communities safe, ensure government accountability, and be an independent voice and work across the aisle,” said Bos. “I have kept all of these promises, but I know our work remains unfinished to deliver on these good government reforms needed to turn Illinois around.”

Chris Bos’ Legislative Priorities:

Make Illinois affordable for families: Bos fought for lowering property taxes, capping the gasoline tax, and advocating for reasonable spending by our government. We need stronger action, not election-year gimmicks.

Keep our communities safe: Bos passed legislation in defense of the most vulnerable, children in the foster care system and others who have been sexually exploited. He supported legislation preventing the sale of 25,000 guns and removed 7,000 more from ineligible gun owners.

Ensure our government is held accountable: Bos passed a landmark bill limiting the power of the Governor—the only bill of its kind this past session.

To be an independent voice and work across the aisle: Voting records show Bos is willing to vote for what is best for his district, not a party line. The new laws Bos authored were passed with near-unanimous, bipartisan support.

“Our families and residents expect results, not just rhetoric,” said Bos. “It’s been important to me to be accountable to voters in delivering on what I said I would do when I earned their votes two years ago. On my campaign website, I have posted the exact bills I sponsored and passed for the priorities I described I would advocate when elected. Voters should expect this level of accountability from their public servants if we are to have any hope of turning things around in state government in Illinois.”

Bos recently earned plaudits for his constructive demeanor and effectiveness from the Daily Herald Editorial Board, which endorsed his candidacy for re-election to the Illinois House.
