The Midwest Conference announced its end-of-season awards for women's basketball on Tuesday and Lake Forest College's Katie Neher was named MWC Player of the Year.

Neher was the league's leading scorer by a wide margin with 20.1 points per conference game. The senior guard also ranked third in the MWC with 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.1 three-pointers per contest while posting the second-highest free throw percentage at 84.6 percent.

Neher reached double figures in points and recorded at least one steal in each of the Foresters' 16 league games. She scored 20 or more in half of them and at least 33 twice. Neher finished the season especially strong, averaging 25.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists during the final seven conference contests. She also closed out her career by connecting on each of her last 27 free throw attempts.

With 501 points in Lake Forest's 24 games overall, Neher ranked among the top 20 scorers in the country. She also turned in the third-highest scoring output in program history and became the first Forester to lead the conference in scoring since Lisa Nassin in 2009-10 and the first to earn MWC Player of the Year honors since Alison Grubbs in 2001.
