The owner of Tocco in Winnetka is seeking to open a second restaurant in Lake Forest, specifically in the retail space previously occupied by King Maa.
According to the Lake Forest Plan Commission agenda for Oct. 18, Bruno Abate, the restaurant owner, is requesting a special use permit to utilize the space in the Westwood Center commercial development. The restaurant would extend into the neighboring tenant space, which formerly housed Michael's barber shop.
A special use permit is necessary for this project because the 2,500-square-foot restaurant would be primarily located within 150 feet of a residential zoning district. The staff recommendation to approve the permit includes certain conditions. One of them requires the property owner to ensure that employees park off-site in the Central Business District employee parking lot on McKinley Road during peak customer times. Additionally, priority for on-site parking must be given to customers.
The owner of Tocco is eager to receive a recommendation from the Plan Commission regarding the opening of the new restaurant in Lake Forest. This recommendation will be sought during the Plan Commission meeting on Oct. 18.
