Jim Carris has secured the Republican nomination for the Illinois 10th District seat in the U.S. House, following an uncontested race in the primary.

"Carris: 'one of my favorite parts of the campaign trail has been meeting with voters," said Carris, Republican Candidate for US Congres Illinois' Senate District 10, according to Facebook. "I met with a large group of 10th District residents yesterday to share my platform and discuss a variety of issues important to them including Israel, the southern border, and the mental health crisis in our District. According to Ballotpedia, Carris was the sole Republican candidate in the primary election for this U.S. House seat. He is set to face three challengers in the general election scheduled for November.

Carris's engagement with his constituents extends beyond official campaign events. A recent Facebook post revealed that he and his wife Kimberly joined Ben Grum, a candidate for Lake County Board District 13, at a fundraiser. The event also saw participation from Andy Dalkin and Mary Cole, candidates for Lake County Board District 12 and Lake County State's Attorney respectively. "My wife Kimberly and I joined Ben Grum...for his fundraiser on Friday! Andy Dalkin...and Mary Cole...also joined us for Ben’s fundraiser and enjoyed a spirited game of cornhole (aka bags for us midwesterners!) to support one another," said Carris.

A well-known figure in the local business community, Carris has lived in Lake County for many years. His campaign website underscores his extensive business background over a political career. "Jim has spent his life in business, not politics, practicing law, running his own company and as a corporate leader," it reads.

In addition to being an accomplished attorney, Carris holds significant positions at Colliers International as Managing Principal, Executive Managing Director, and Market Leader.

Carris is the son of an immigrant; his father left Greece seeking better opportunities. Financing his own education through various jobs - ranging from painting houses and construction work to dishwashing and bartending - Carris embodies a strong work ethic that has been instrumental throughout his life.

The incumbent Democrat U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider currently represents the 10th District which encompasses several municipalities across Lake County, Cook County and McHenry County.
