Hinsdale Middle School (HMS) teacher Kelly Pelak has been honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. This national award recognizes outstanding teachers committed to innovation and excellence in STEM education.
Ms. Pelak's passion for teaching and dedication to her students have significantly impacted the HMS community. Her innovative teaching methods and engaging classroom activities inspire students to explore science and mathematics.
As a recipient of this award, Ms. Pelak will receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation and a trip to Washington, D.C., for a recognition ceremony and professional development events. She will join three other exceptional teachers from the Chicago area in receiving this honor.
