A recent community partnership has resulted in the donation of 667 pairs of leggings to students in North Chicago, spanning three elementary schools.
Senator Adriane Johnson, Dr. Lee Zachary Maxey, and the First Baptist Church of North Chicago were key contributors to this initiative.
The distribution was as follows:
- Forrestal Elementary received 175 pairs. Principal Cara Kranz and Health Office Aid Stacie Mull were acknowledged for their roles.
- Alexander Elementary received 211 pairs. Principal Arturo Abrego and Social Worker Delinda Dunlap-Ryan were thanked for their assistance.
- AJK Elementary received 281 pairs. Principal Malika Rodgers and Social Worker Stacy McNeely were recognized for their contributions.
The donation was funded by Senator Johnson and coordinated by Ms. Stephanie Duty. It aims to provide warmth and comfortable coverage for female students during the cold months.
"Our goal is to build a strong support network and foster community engagement, ensuring our students have what they need to thrive," said a representative from the schools involved.
This initiative highlights an ongoing commitment to supporting children's well- being through community engagement.
