Trey Martin, originally from Texas, graduated from Erie High School in 2015 with a passion for IT work. “I have been the tech nerd for my family my whole life including electronics repair and IT work,” he said. This skill provided him the foundation needed to join WPS. “I just love the culture of the people in WPS. The folks we work with are so supportive and respectful. Plus, we get to take care of incredible students too!”

Martin is now in his fourth year at WPS as a Field Tech in Tech Services.

When asked about his favorite food, he replied, “My favorite food, hands down, is breakfast food. Even with the price of eggs!”

He has two favorite quotes: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” and “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never see. ”

His favorite athlete is Candide Thovex, a French skier. “His videos push me to be a better skier,” said Martin.

Among his hobbies are skiing, mountain biking, and board games like "Betrayal at the House on the Hill."

In terms of music preferences, Martin enjoys discovering new tunes but lately has been into a 2010’s throwback mood featuring artists like Bruno Mars and Miley Cyrus.

If he could choose any superpower it would be teleportation as seen in the movie "Jumper."

When discussing how he would make the world a better place, Martin said: “I would make everyone’s basic needs be met; then they could focus on the great things in life and not worry about where their next meal will come from or where their housing needs will be met. ”

Reflecting on his time at WPS, Martin said: “It has been a great place for me to grow professionally and personally. The folks of WPS have been incredible to work with because they are amazing people. ”

Finally, when asked who inspires him most, Martin concluded: “The teachers of WPS inspire me the most. I get the chance to support them; and they in turn take care of our great kids every day. I get a ton of pride supporting our amazing teachers. ”
