ZESD 6 participates in Lake County professional development day

On Feb. 15, 2025, during Lake County ROE Institute Day, teachers from Zion Elementary School District 6 (ZESD 6) participated in a day of professional development alongside educators from across Lake County. The event featured multiple training sessions on topics such as podcasting, career exploration, physical education, art, technology, coaching, and Growth Mindset.

The occasion provided an opportunity for collaboration and innovation among educators. Several ZESD 6 staff members led sessions to share their expertise:

- Jenny Cutlan and Stacey Storey presented "Moving Minds: Integrating Literacy and Math Strategies in the PE Classroom. "

- Valisa Harmon led "Empowering Creativity: Strategies for an Engaging Makerspace Classroom. "

- Jennifer Sajovec, Katie Patton, Juli Luckasky, and Jennifer Carlson co- presented "Responsive Coaching in Action: Building Teacher Capacity and Supporting District Initiatives. "

- Dr. Eric Youngman discussed "Multilingual Learning with a Growth Mindset. "

- Nathan Sweet and Alissa Webster conducted a session on "Engaging Students In the Art Room. "

- Krystal Pipes led a workshop on "Careers Exploration. "

- Kelli Blakeslee and Kerri Gilbert introduced participants to "The Basics of Podcasting."
