The latest issue highlights several key initiatives and updates within the district.

The newsletter underscores the importance of community support by featuring the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic. This organization provides free legal services in housing, immigration, and domestic violence to low-income individuals, aiming to ensure access to justice for all.

In preparation for the Illinois Assessment for Readiness (IAR), the newsletter notes that testing is scheduled for March 10-14, with science tests for 5th and 8th graders occurring from March 3-7. Families are encouraged to learn about ways they can support their children during this period.

On the topic of food services, Mr. Rogers, Director of Finance and Operations, conducted a tasting event with students across D76. Feedback gathered from this event will inform future menus to better align with student preferences.

Student academic growth was also discussed at the February 4th Board of Education meeting where updates on student growth and progress on assessments were reviewed.

The district continues its commitment to fostering a positive learning environment through its Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program which reinforces expected behaviors to support student success.

Finally, in an exciting development in STEAM education, students are leveraging AI technology via Canva's Dream Lab. This tool allows them to generate images from text prompts, fostering creativity while strengthening writing skills.
