The Edgewood community recently concluded another successful EPIC Week, the school’s annual philanthropic event, raising $16,000 for the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation and GI cancer research. In collaboration with Highland Park High School, the event featured partnerships with the Jr. Board and executive board of the Eisenberg Foundation, fostering a week of meaningful giving.

The initiative began with a silent auction featuring donations from the Highland Park community. Popular items included experiences from SkyZone, Overtime, Bubbles Academy, summer camps like Chippewa and Ojibwa, and packages from Dave & Buster’s.

“This event is a testament to the incredible spirit of our Edgewood community,” Principal Louis Kotvis said. “Our students, staff, and families came together in an inspiring way, showing how much of an impact we can have when we work toward a common goal. ”

Throughout the week, Edgewood students and staff participated in themed spirit days such as PJ Day, College Day, and EPIC Week Swag Day on Friday. Lunchtime activities including karaoke, musical chairs, and trivia added energy to the school.

After-school events included a Paint Party; a dodgeball game between the Highland Park Police Department and students; and a Staff vs. 8th Grade Student basketball game. The excitement peaked at EPIC Night on Thursday while local restaurants supported through ‘Dine and Donate’ opportunities.

EPIC Week concluded with a celebration on Friday morning where students played “knock out” with lucky winners followed by administrators taking pies to their faces. The finale revealed that $16,000 had been raised for the Eisenberg Foundation.

Organizers Jenna Bauer and Ari Feinberg were thanked along with dedicated staff members and parents who contributed to making this event successful.

“It was amazing to see the enthusiasm generosity sense of togetherness throughout the week ” Principal Kotvis added
