Lake Forest Schools announces TEDxLFHS 2025 event

Lake Forest Schools have announced that TEDxLFHS, an annual TEDxYouth event showcasing Lake Forest High School (LFHS) students, teachers, and innovative thinkers, will take place on Wednesday, March 19. The announcement was made in a press release.

According to the TEDxLFHS website, this event highlights the ideas and innovations of LFHS students, teachers, and other thinkers, with an emphasis on empowering young people in Lake Forest and beyond. The theme for this year’s event is "Wonderworks," scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. TEDx is a program that supports independently organized events where TEDTalk videos and live speakers foster deep discussions and connections in smaller groups. These events are locally organized but follow the general guidance of the TED Conference.

The website further states that Simon Back, Lainey Laughton, Kelly MacBlane, Mike Mizwicki, Carolyn Stach, Michael Soffer, Jackson Sorensen, and Siobhan Boyle will speak at TEDxLFHS 2025. They will present on topics such as the impact of language on the mind, overcoming adversity through scoliosis, teaching history, juggling, interactive learning, and the significance of salt in history while also emceeing the event.

Lake Forest High School was established in 1935 as a public secondary school in Lake Forest, Illinois. It serves grades 9–12 with approximately 95% of its students pursuing higher education. The school supports personalized instruction within a collaborative environment emphasizing mutual respect and high expectations.

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves about 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood in grades 9–12. According to Lake Forest Schools' information, the district offers a range of academic programs including advanced placement courses and specialized electives alongside extracurricular activities like athletics and performing arts.
