Ryan Morgan is a candidate on the April 1 ballot for the North Shore School District 112 Board of Education.

North Shore School District 112 serves nearly 4,000 Pre-K through 8th grade students from the communities of Highland Park, Highwood and Fort Sheridan.

"As a lifelong learner with a background in education, engineering, and business, I bring eight years of experience as a secondary education teacher,” Morgan told Lake County Gazette. “I hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Education, and an MBA."

He emphasized how his diverse qualifications have shaped his approach to education.

"This, combined with my work in the corporate world and my leadership and involvement in our school community, fuels my passion for supporting education," Morgan said.

Morgan reflected on the progress the district has made.

"Our district has undergone a major transformation, with significant investments in school infrastructure, and I’m grateful for the community’s support in making this possible," he said. "As we move from construction to long-term maintenance, I aim to responsibly manage these investments by balancing expenses with future needs—ensuring we continue to provide a high-quality education without the constant need for additional funding."

Morgan is also focused on improving academic performance and consistency across the district.

“Another top priority is academics,” he said. “We must implement a consistent curriculum across all schools and ensure every student reaches their full potential. This includes challenging advanced learners and providing extra support for those in need, while recognizing each child’s unique strengths."

In addition to academics, Morgan is passionate about fostering an “inclusive and collaborative environment.”

"[W]here both academics and extracurricular activities promote growth and connections beyond the classroom,” he said. “The rich diversity of our community offers an incredible opportunity to expose students to cross-cultural experiences, preparing them for a future that will continue to be shaped by a global mix of cultures."

Morgan’s overarching belief in the power of education is central to his campaign.

"I believe in the power of education to shape not only our children’s futures but also the future of our entire community," he asserted. "I look forward to listening, learning, and working together to build an inclusive, rigorous, and supportive environment for all in District 112."

Morgan, along with Lori Fink, Art Kessler, Bennett W. Lasko, Bradley Hergott, Jaret Fishman, Sharone Levy and Marck John Guy, are vying for four seats on the North Shore School District 112 Board of Education.
