Battle of the Books | Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board
Battle of the Books | Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board
D64 had a strong performance in this year's Battle of the Books. Washington, the defending champion, scored 581 points to secure second place, narrowly trailing St. Andrew's total score of 592. Franklin finished in third place with 534 points.
For over 40 years, the Park Ridge Public Library has collaborated with Park Ridge schools to offer fourth and fifth-grade students an opportunity to test their knowledge of books through this competition.
"An awesome job to all of our readers!" said a district representative. It was noted that Washington and Franklin students read 40 books over five weeks. The participants were acknowledged at the March Board meeting.
Thank you to Washington Teacher Allie Reno and Franklin LIS Andrea Hetzke for attending the meeting. The district also expressed gratitude towards all teachers and parents who contribute to making this event enjoyable.
