Starting next week, Collinsville CUSD 10 students in grades 3 through 8 will be assessed in language arts and mathematics. The tests are part of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) program and are administered to all eligible students.

The test window in the district begins on Monday, March 24; however, testing dates may differ between schools.

Parents are advised to watch for information from their child's teacher or school regarding the specific days they will be testing.

The results of these state tests will be reported in the school's Report Card in the fall. The school district will review these results along with other information to help improve its educational program. Additionally, parents will receive information about their child's performance on the state tests.

To support students during this testing period, parents are encouraged to:

- Ensure that their child attends school on test days if possible.

- Make sure their child gets a good night's sleep before each test day.

- Provide breakfast on test mornings or have their child eat free breakfast available at school.

- Remind their child to ask teachers questions if they do not understand instructions.

- Express confidence in their child's ability to perform well.

- Advise them not to worry about the test but simply do their best.

Parents seeking additional information or having further questions about these tests can contact their child's teacher.

The district looks forward to sharing the IAR results with parents this fall.
