The Board of Education at DCES is considering implementing a delayed start of school by one or two hours due to inclement weather for safety reasons. This procedure could begin as early as next year. On a one or two-hour delay, the school would still serve breakfast, run a morning routine, and dismiss at the regular 3 o'clock time.

The board is seeking input from the community regarding this possibility. Residents are encouraged to complete a survey to share their thoughts with the Board. The feedback collected will help determine if late starts to the school day will be planned.

This topic is scheduled for discussion at the next school board meeting, set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 24.
