Mr. Barsotti began his career in education at a therapeutic day school, where he developed a strong foundation in supporting diverse student needs. He then transitioned into the public school sector, spending the majority of his career as an eighth-grade social studies teacher. An opportunity to expand his impact led him to become an assistant principal at Beach Park Middle School (BPMS).

During his tenure at BPMS, Barsotti worked alongside what he describes as some of the best educators and most genuine people he has encountered throughout his career. He later served as principal of a K-8 school in Antioch, where he gained appreciation for the energy and excitement that elementary students bring to learning. In his current role as principal at Emmons School in District 33, he continues to refine his belief in strong relationships and collaborative school communities.

Barsotti is excited to return to the Beach Park school community and looks forward to partnering with families, staff, and students at Kenneth Murphy. He aims to create a positive environment where every child is safe, valued, and challenged to grow.

Beyond his professional life, Barsotti has been married to his wife Stephanie for 21 years. They have a 17-year-old daughter who will soon graduate and attend National Louis University in the fall.

Dr. Denise Wilcox concluded the announcement by inviting everyone to welcome Barsotti back to Beach Park and Kenneth Murphy Elementary School.
