**Article: School announcements: Prom, clubs, and record-breaking news**
On April 23, 2025, the school released several important announcements for students.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The cafeteria menu includes Cheeses Garlic French Pizza, Spicy Chicken Breast Served on a Whole Grain Bun, Oven Baked French Fries, Baby Whole Carrot, Mixed Green Salad, and Assorted Fresh Fruit.
Students are reminded that all prom guest forms must be submitted to student services by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 30th. The guest's ID must be stapled to the signed form. Forms can be picked up in student services or the general office.
The ABC countdown will begin this Thursday with "A for Adam Sandler" and "Barbecue Dads vs. Soccer Moms" on Friday. Students are encouraged to participate in adding fun to the final 26 school days.
GUIDANCE:
Seniors needing to complete their FAFSA are invited to attend a workshop in the UT Commons on Thursday, April 24th from 6-7 pm. Parents are also welcome to attend. Students should check their email for a list of items to bring and consult their counselor with any questions.
CLUBS:
The LGBT+ club will have a short meeting after school today in Miss Williams' room 125E to plan their end-of-year get-together. New students are always welcome.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Foster’s Voice will meet this Thursday at 7 am in Gym A. Participants can learn more about mental health awareness efforts and enjoy donuts while bringing along friends.
A student council meeting is scheduled for this Friday at Mr. Welch's room, 109S, at 7:30 am. The agenda includes a panther pant recap and discussions on ABC Countdown, Exec Board applications, and final student council activities for the year.
Student Council executive board applications are due by Tuesday, April 29th to Mrs. Colgan in room 172N. All positions are open for students with big ideas they would like to implement next year.
SPORTS:
"Congratulations to Michael Kpomassy for breaking the 40-year-old school shot put record," said an announcement. "Michael's throw of 63 feet 2 inches currently ranks first in Illinois and is one of the top marks in the US. " Coach Martin was also congratulated on this achievement.
