Granite City Community Unit School District #9 has published the school supply lists for the 2025-26 academic year, which will commence on Thursday, August 14. The district advises purchasing extra basic supplies during "Back to School" sales, such as pencils, paper, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, and crayons. Additional items may be required by individual teachers at the start of the school year.
The supply lists are available in both English and Spanish for Granite City High School (9th-12th Grade), Coolidge Junior High (7th & 8th Grade), Elementary Schools (Kindergarten-6th Grade), and Lake Educational Support Services Center.
Enrollment and registration for the new school year remain open. Families can register using their SKYWARD account through a web browser. New enrollments require visiting the Enrollment/Registration website for necessary documents before heading to the enrollment center at James J. Registration hours until July 25 are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Friday from 7 to 11 a.m. From July 28 to August 29, registration is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Students must be registered or enrolled to attend school on the first day of classes scheduled for Thursday, August 14.
